Garden City Placemaking Fund Featured in Popular “From Boise” Newsletter

The news and entertainment newsletter From Boise highlighted the successful first year of the Garden City Placemaking Fund, a collaboration between Surel’s Place and business owners, residents and artists in and around the Surel Mitchell Live-Work-Create District.

In these first first 12 months, the Placemaking Fund has raised about $40,000 from more than 60 individuals and organizations; funded 10 murals; worked with some two dozen local, emerging and BIPOC artists; and earned grant support from the Idaho Community Foundation and Together Treasure Valley.

The project ended the year with a community discussion that will help shape the Fund’s efforts and objectives for the coming year.
