“May 2018 at Surel’s Place was a wonderfully productive time for me. I completed 8 textile collages, screen printing children’s words and drawings into cloth and paper. I layered hand dyed silk organza into each piece; machine stitching and/or had stitching to merge colors and refine the composition. The work AT THE TABLE began as an abstract and moved into a personal narrative about a difficult conversation. Illustrating a precarious moment with the materials I had on hand was liberating.”
