Walls Keep Shifting

“My work explores the conceptual and artistic nexus of shared space. I am interested in the contradiction between its limitations as well as its immensity, and the tension that exists between these two poles. Occupying this middle ground, I am free to investigate the various ways we access space as well as their geographical and structural contexts. For instance, doorways and windows are entryways into spaces, but they are also barriers – allowing us to keep things out. My work foregrounds the duality of these environments, presenting the viewer with the conundrum of an entry that is also an exit. Are you invited in, or left out?”
