The object is the subject. Physical reference points, receivers of light, generators of shadow- objects, though physical, define the positions we occupy in the world of ideas. An object is also a concept.
Veiko Valencia was born in Peru and has lived in Boise, Idaho, since 2007. He studied at a traditional Art School, Carlos Baca Flor, in Arequipa, Peru. Later, Valencia obtained his BFA in Painting and Drawing and his MFA in Visual Arts from Boise State University. He is a current recipient of the Alexa Rose residency.
